Keep me close, dear Jesus, near Your side—

Within Your presence. Lead me, Shepherd true,
That I may walk in safety next to You.

Console my heart with comfort from above
That I may still rejoice within Your love.

Let me not drift when storms surround my days,
When tempests threaten all my earthly ways.
Protect me, Lord, as earnestly I plea,
And guide me safely through life’s troubled sea.

Though years may fade and seasons pass away,

No earthly dreams or honors do I seek,
No riches call to make my spirit weak.
