The Longing Heart

I love You, Lord, and honor Your great name,
My trusting heart repeats it day by day.
A quiet longing burns without a flame,
And draws my weary spirit to Your way.

Though I may stumble, wander, fall to sin,

Your sacred Word calls wandering feet back in,
And leads me safely to Your living light.

My heart longs only for the Lord’s embrace,
To lean beside Him through life’s shifting sand.
I seek no other shelter, no other place,
But rest forever in His guiding hand.

This world is heavy with injustice, night,
Where bitter wrongs obscure the morning light.
